Living Well Day focuses on mental health
Posted: 25th February 2020The negative side of the internet was explored during a day devoted to protecting the mental health of young people.
Students in Year 7 to 13 at Epping St John’s Church of England School took part in a Living Well Day.
Real Talk Theatre Company delivered sessions on internet safety and its links to mental health issues
Anmarie Petrou, acting designated safeguarding lead, said: “Students got to discuss the good and the bad sides of the internet; how it should be used and how it shouldn’t. They looked at online bullying and had the chance to take part in some interesting discussions.
“The day was planned around the topics which came up as a result of our first Living Well Day in October. We asked for feedback from students and their parents and internet safety was top of the list. We will hold another event in June focusing on drug awareness.”
