Parliament trip for students
Posted: 16th April 2018A trip to Parliament helped to put politics lessons into perspective.
Year 12 students from Epping St John’s School who are studying A-level government and politics and sociology visited the Houses of Parliament.
They were given a tour where they saw artwork in St Stephen’s Hall and the Royal Gallery.
The trip, sponsored by Eleanor Laing MP, also enabled the 18 students to see Downing Street and Parliament Street.
Mr Yerosimou, subject leader for A-level politics, said: “The trip was an amazing success. Both politics and sociology students found the trip interesting and were engaged throughout our tour around the building.
“It fed into both courses and made a lot of key terms we have covered seem more real as they have now seen what we have been referring to.
“A highlight of the trip was being allowed to enter both chambers of Parliament - Commons and Lords - which the students found a real privilege.”
