A-Level Case Studies 2024
Posted: 16th August 2024Young people are flying the nests to start their new lives at university.
Year 13 students returned to school today to collect their A-level results, many now packing their bags and heading to universities all around the country.
Kyle Robertson, 18, from Waltham Abbey, collected A* in psychology, A in biology, A in business studies and A in Extending Project Qualification today.
He is off to Loughborough University to study marketing and management with dreams of working in marketing for concerts and music festivals in future.
He said: “My results are more than I imagined or hoped they would be. I was slightly surprised when I opened them. The relief was the main thing I felt, as I needed AAB to get into university.
“I like to go to concerts and music festivals and I am quite musical, so this brings together my passion and a career. It would mean doing a job I would enjoy.
“The sixth form laid on extra revision sessions, as well as tutoring which helped a lot.
“I am looking forward to the uni experience. I have already looked up music festivals nearby in Nottingham!”
Erin Cooney, 18, from Ongar, is heading to Loughborough University to study psychology after picking up A* in sociology, A in psychology and A in media today.
She dreams of becoming a clinical psychologist in the future.
She said: “I want to help people. I have always been interested in how the brain works, how we interact with each other and what makes people tick.
“I work as a carer for elderly people with dementia, so that has given me further insight.
“I am so looking forward to going to university, especially as I am going with two of my friends from Epping St John’s.”
Macey Prosser, 18, from Harlow, collected A* in psychology, A* in sociology and A in art and will study psychology at Nottingham University.
She said: “I really could not believe it when I opened my results. I was not expecting that at all. I got a D in my last mock for one of them, but the school provided me with a tutor and extra revision sessions, so I spent a lot of time trying to improve on that.
“This improvement in my grade means I can now go to a better university than I had originally planned. It is all so sudden. I did not expect my grades to be so high.
“The independence I will have at uni is really exciting.”
